I am a cartoonist who has been rejected by the New Yorker 79 times (and counting).
Once, I made negative $50 when my cartoon Abandonment Issues was published by Narrative Magazine. According to my cartoon sensei Asher Perlman, this puts me among the top 1 percent of cartoonists in terms of successfulness.
I’m having a solo cartoon show and artist residency at Necessary + Sufficient Coffee Printers Row, and I hope you will come.
Perhaps you will be inspired to purchase one of my cartoons. Or perhaps you will be moved to write a personal letter of rejection to the cartoonist (me).
